Nature of Work:

Provides proficient software and technology integration training on a variety of courses and programs for P-16 educators under the auspices of the Educational Technology Training Center (ETTC) and Georgia Department of Education. Collaborates with the ETTC Director and state Instructional Technology Specialists to plan and implement staff development programs for introductory, intermediate and advanced coursework. Adheres to and makes recommendations for local instructional policies and practice. Evaluates current procedures and practices for accomplishing instructional objectives and develops improved procedures and practices for programmatic improvement. Recommends new courses and modifications to existing courses based upon needs of external customers. Work is generally performed independently and supervision may be exercised over other employees. Work is reviewed through periodic conferences with the ETTC Director, participant feedback and evaluation and observation of training performance

 

Job Specific Duties:

1.      Teach technology integration courses to P-16 educators in the Educational Technology Training Center and on-site in local school systems.

2.     Attend all required organizational and strategic meetings for Instructional Technology Specialists of the Educational Technology Centers and the State Department of Education.

3.     Maintain a collegial relationship with SDRC staff, ETTC Director, ETTC co-workers and host institution staff.

4.     Respond and react to all communication from the State Department of Education and the ETTC Director in a timely manner.

5.     Maintain professional relationships with external customers conductive to professional growth and development.

6.     Seek out new products and trends in the educational arena and make recommendations to ETTC Director for new inventory.

7.     Collaborate with the ETTC Director and State DOE Specialists to design and implement technology training courses/activities.

8.     Perform other duties as assigned by the ETTC Director.

9.     Identify professional development goals and collaborate with the ETTC Director to identify appropriate professional development training.

10. Participate in professional growth staff development to keep abreast of current and emerging instructional technologies.

11. Ability to employ research-based, modern teaching aids and techniques.

12. Ability to speak effectively before groups and facilitate discussion.

13. Ability to work effectively with ETTC Director, the State DOE, host institution officials, fellow employees and the general public.
