Everyday Spelling Strategies - The strategies on this Web site are practical, workable ways to help children remember words that are difficult for them. The strategies vary in complexity. Check the links on the left to see the specific strategies appropriate for each grade.
Spelling Articles - Four articles from Scholastic:
Alphabet Soup - Find the mixed-up word in the soup and drag it up to the blank word. This game is for grades 4-5.
Bob the Builder Spelling Test - Once you have chosen a level, correctly spell the name of each picture in the flip book by dragging each block to its proper place.
Leo Loves to Spell - Pick a place for your language adventure with Leo.
Missing Letters - Find a matching word and type the missing letters. Click on a hamburger to go to the next or previous word unit. Click on a tile at the top to choose a unit.
Spell Check - In this activity, the computer will give twenty sets of four words. Place a check next to the word which is spelled wrong. Then spell the word you checked correctly in the box.
Spin and Spell - Online game.......spin the wheel and then spell the word. Play against the computer or with a partner.
Spellbound - Choose your level and click Start. Look carefully at the word on top of the wall. When it disappears, drag the letters into the slots and spell the word correctly.
Sort, Hunt, Write: A Weekly Spelling Program - This lesson provides a way for you to help your students learn and develop understandings of new word patterns. Students will work with their spelling words in a variety of ways. They will have opportunities to work individually, with partners, and in small groups as they learn their new words.
